My Branding Design Process

My aim is to streamline, guide you step by step and make the process for you enjoyable as possible as I know, starting up a business or rebranding while working on your business is overwhelming and can be a stressful time. Below, is a breakdown to help you get an idea of what is involved in the process for my Branding Design projects.

When you book a spot in my calendar, agreement is signed and 50% payment deposit is made (approximately 4- 5 weeks before your Branding project commences )
A Branding Questionnaire will be sent to you, to fill out and I will also ask you to create a Pinterest Board.

First step to do,  is create your Pinterest Board before you fill out the Questionnaire.

The filled out Questionnaire along with your URL link of your Pinterest Board will be due the morning we are booked in to start. The time allocated for a branding design project is 6 weeks when we commence.

1 | PINTEREST BOARD

The Pinterest Board is to get an even better idea visually of what you like . Pin anything you like,  I will then go through your board and take from it what I think will align/work well with your  brand.

Then in the Questionnaire, there’s a section to add your URL link to the Pinterest board you have created, so I can then view it.

2 | BRANDING QUESTIONNAIRE

Take your time answering the questions as this information you provide will help me influence your brands personality and feel that you would like for your project. It is an important process for the design strategy stage.

I work through the completed  questions and make sure I understand your  answers. If I’m not clear on anything, I will contact you to get  further explanation.

Some of the questions include:

  • About your business:
Who you are, business mission, goals, purpose, values?

  • Target audience: (Dream customer)
Ideal customer profile, who they are, age, gender?
What do they like, what are their hobbies/interests?

  • Brand:
What feeling or message do you want your customer to feel when they interact with your brand?

3 |  MOODBOARD

From here, once I have your Questionnaire and Pinterest board inspiration, I will start my research then create a moodboard for your brand.

A moodboard sets the overall feeling/style of the brand and is a collection of different elements such as images, colours,  patterns, textures and fonts.

It will be based on the Questionnaire you have filled out, the Pinterest Board and all my creative research, and ensure we are on the right track for the overall feel of your brand.

*Please note:  Everything that is included on the moodboard will not be part of your final design/visuals.  This purely to give us a feel and build upon for the creative/visual direction to create your unique design that is designed  for your business.

I send to you, so you can review and see we are heading in the right direction.

Once the moodboard is  approved,  the next step I then create your logo concept for you.

4 | LOGO CONCEPT

I now start creating concept for your logo. I begin sketching ideas on paper first and from there I then take ideas and create presentable logos in Adobe Illustrator to present to you.

I will provide a unique design and we will go through a few rounds of revisions. Three (3) rounds are included in all the packages and ensure we get it perfect for you.

Feedback to remain on schedule with our timeframes to be provided by 1- 3 business days back to me.

Once you are happy with your logo, I then move on to creating all of the final elements for the brand.

5 | BRAND COLLATERAL

Now it all starts to come together, pending on Branding package you have chosen I will create the remaining collateral.

I put this all together and present it to you for sign-off and revise until perfect!

6 | BRANDING GUIDELINES

Once all collateral is signed off I will commence creating your Brand Guidelines document.

Colours, all logos, fonts, moodboard, pattern/or illustration - brand elements (if applicable)

Branding Guidelines are so important to remain consistent across your channels.

Also very helpful for anyone else working with your brand to know exactly what to do to keep the designs on brand and cohesive.

At this stage remaining payment is required.

7 | TRANSFER OF YOUR FINAL FILES

We’re all done with the brand design.

I create your folder, and organise all of the files into that folder with different sub folders to keep it organised for you.

Time to celebrate!
